  19. PROGRAM LONG DESCRIPTION: pc/Recall is a powerful utility which sits either in your
  20. Windows tray, or in a tiny rollup window which you can locate to any unused portion
  21. of your screen. With pc/Recall, you can take a "snapshot" of the programs which you
  22. have open. The "snapshot" may be stored as a bookmark for recall later, or may be set
  23. to automatically launch next time you start up your system.

  25. pc/Recall also allows you to set applications to run automatically at preset
  26. days and times, even if you are away from your computer.

  28. And pc/Recall is perfect for those computer tasks which require you to open
  29. several applications (e.g., to write letters to people who owe you money, you
  30. might need your accounting package, your calculator applet and your word
  31. processor). Instead of clicking on several icons or searching through lists of
  32. files, you can simply click on a single pc/Recall bookmark and load all your
  33. applications at once.

  35. You can also custom-configure the command lines of applications (e.g., to launch
  36. a word processor or other program with a specific file preloaded) and store
  37. them, along with your "snapshots" in named volumes of "bookmarks." You can
  38. switch between bookmarks or volumes with a click of the mouse.

  40. Plus, pc/Recall can be used to quickly send the contents of your screen (or the 
  41. active window) to your printer just by pressing the "Print Screen" key on your
  42. keyboard. Your system's screen (or a selected portion) can also be saved to an

  44. pc/Recall contains its own fully functional paint program to allow you to create
  45. and edit both screen captures and other images.

  75. INSTALLING pc/Recall
  76. ------------------------------

  78. Before you can begin using pc/Recall you must run pc/Recall's
  79. Setup program from Windows. In most cases you cannot simply copy
  80. the software onto your hard drive. The files on the CursorArts
  81. distribution disks are stored in a special compressed form to
  82. save space. The Setup program is the only way to insure that
  83. pc/Recall is properly unpacked and installed. To install
  84. pc/Recall, follow the steps below:
  85.  
  86.     NOTE: Depending on where you obtained your copy of this
  87.     program, you may not need to run Setup - so don't panic if
  88.     you can't find it. If you have a file named PCRECALL.EXE, you
  89.     have the basic program. Just copy that file to your hard drive
  90.     in a directory of your choice and launch it from the Windows
  91.     Program Manager, File Manager or Windows 95 Explorer.
  92.  
  93. 1.  Start Windows.
  94.  
  95. 2.  If you received pc/Recall on diskette, place it into
  96.     the floppy drive now. If you downloaded pc/Recall in
  97.     archived format, use PKUNZIP to uncompress the files to a
  98.     working directory on your hard disk.
  99.  
  100. 3.  Activate the Windows Program Manager or Explorer.
  101.  
  102. 4.  Select "Run..." from the "Start" menu.
  103.  
  104. 5.  In the "Command Line" field enter one of the following:
  105.  
  106.       -  If you placed the pc/Recall diskette into drive
  107.          A:, type: A:\SETUP
  108.  
  109.       -  If you placed the pc/Recall diskette into drive
  110.          B:, type: B:\SETUP
  111.  
  112.       -  If you downloaded pc/Recall, type:
  113.          C:\DIRNAME\SETUP (Remember to replace DIRNAME with the name
  114.          of the directory where you uncompressed pc/Recall.)
  115.  
  116. 6.  Follow the instructions on the screen.

  120. UNINSTALLING / REMOVING FROM YOUR SYSTEM
  121. ----------------------------------------
  122. If you decide that you no longer wish to use pc/Recall, or if you
  123. decide not to use pc/Recall beyond the 30-day evaluation period,
  124. you need only use the "Add/Remove Programs" feature in the Windows
  125. "Control Panel" folder.
  126.  
  127. To remove any shortcuts to pc/Recall which you may have created on
  128. your Windows desktop, simply delete these by highlighting the link
  129. icon and pressing your Delete key. To remove shortcuts on the
  130. Windows Start menu, use your file manager to delete the PCRECALL
  131. directory folder which is located inside the
  132. \WINDOWS\START MENU\PROGRAMS folder.

  256. you install pc/Recall and below. When you purchase pc/Recall, you will
  257. receive a separate license for use beyond the 30-day evaluation period
  258. and a limited warranty. Please read the license before you use
  259. pc/Recall.

  262. SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT

  264. This SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT is a legal agreement between you
  265. (either an individual or other legal entity) and CursorArts Company.
  266. By installing the software and/or using the software, you are agreeing
  267. to be bound by the terms of this agreement. If you do not agree to
  268. the terms of this agreement, do not proceed to install or use the
  269. software and immediately erase or destroy any copies of the software
  270. which you may have.

  272. 1. Grant of License
  273. This license permits you to use one copy of the included CursorArts
  274. software (the "SOFTWARE") on one, single-user computer system for a
  275. period not to exceed 30 days from your first use of the SOFTWARE.
  276. The SOFTWARE is in use when it is installed into that computer
  277. system's permanent memory (e.g., on a hard disk or other storage
  278. device) or when it is loaded into temporary memory (i.e., RAM). If
  279. you wish to use the software beyond the 30 day period, you must first
  280. obtain the full version of this SOFTWARE from CursorArts or one of
  281. its authorized dealers, which includes a license to use the SOFTWARE
  282. beyond 30 days.

  284. 2. Copyrights and Trademarks
  285. The SOFTWARE and its accompanying documentation and other materials
  286. are protected by U.S. and international copyright laws and treaties.
  287. The SOFTWARE is like any other copyrighted material (such as a book or
  288. motion picture) and may not be reproduced or distributed, except that
  289. you may (a) transfer the SOFTWARE to a single hard disk drive provided
  290. you keep the original solely for archival or backup purposes, (b) make
  291. one copy of the SOFTWARE on removable media (such as a diskette)
  292. solely for archival or backup purposes, or (c) provide copies of the
  293. SOFTWARE to personal acquaintances or family members to allow such
  294. persons to evaluate the program for up to 30 days. You may not charge
  295. for or sell any copy which you distribute, without the express, prior
  296. agreement of CursorArts Company You may not duplicate or transmit any
  297. portion of any manual, labels, packaging, serial numbers, Product
  298. Registration Card, or related printed information included with the
  299. SOFTWARE. You may not make any modifications or changes to the SOFTWARE.
  300. You may not delete any of the files contained in the SOFTWARE. You may
  301. not decompile, disassemble, or otherwise reverse-engineer the SOFTWARE.
  302. You may not sublicense, rent, lend, lease, donate, sell, load, pledge,
  303. transfer or distribute on a temporary or permanent basis the original
  304. or backup copies of the SOFTWARE or the documentation accompanying the
  305. SOFTWARE to any other individual or company. IconForge, pc/Recall,
  306. SecurDesk!, FileWrangler and CursorArts are trademarks of CursorArts
  307. Company. All other brand and product names mentioned in conjunction
  308. with the SOFTWARE are trademarks or registered trademarks of their
  309. respective owners.

  311. 3. Limited Warranty on Software
  312. CursorArts warrants only the physical diskette(s) which it has
  313. manufactured to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a
  314. period of thirty (30) days from the date of receipt. In the event
  315. CursorArts receives written notice from you of defects in materials and
  316. workmanship within the warranty period, CursorArts will replace the
  317. defective diskette(s). Diskettes must be returned to: CursorArts Company;
  318. Customer Services; P.O. Box 1379; Bend, OR 97709-1379; USA. The remedy for
  319. breach of this limited warranty shall be limited to replacement of
  320. diskettes and shall not include any other damages. The publisher makes
  321. no warranty concerning the function or fitness of any programs
  322. reproduced on this disk. Neither CursorArts Company, nor its authorized
  323. agents shall be liable for consequential, special, indirect, or other
  324. similar damages or claims, including loss of profits or any other
  325. commercial damages, and in no event will the liability for damages to
  326. you or any other person ever exceed the price paid for the license to
  327. use the software, regardless of any form of the claim. CursorArts Company
  328. specifically disclaims all other warranties, expressed or implied,
  329. including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability and
